Barnsley-based natural health brand, BetterYou™, has been awarded a prestigious Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Award 2019.
A panel of four judges from across the legal, finance and business sectors in Yorkshire, including representatives from The Bank of England, Grant Thornton and Virgin Money, chose BetterYou™ as the winner after the company had demonstrated a strong financial performance, consistent growth and a dedication to innovation and sustainability in the health supplements arena.
Cementing its status as forward-thinking; BetterYou™ is amongst those brands paving the way in sustainability and environmental responsibility, having devoted over two years to the research and planning behind launching its ‘eco’ initiative this year; The Better Planet Project.
The brand kicked-off the programme by changing packaging across its entire commercial product range; utilising recycled materials such as ocean waste and post-consumer recycling (PCR) along with plant-based plastic which is carbon negative in its production and transportation.
BetterYou™ also partners with academic institutions in Yorkshire and nationwide. The brand recently completed a collaboration with the University of Sheffield, with whom it has undertaken a three-year clinical trial looking at the effect of vitamin D supplementation of the quality of life of people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, using its DLux3000 oral spray.
